We are pleased to announce that CILcare’s research using SAMP8 (Senescence-accelerated mouse prone 8) as a model of age-related hearing loss (ARHL), is featured in the July 2017 issue of the journal “Neuroscience Letters”.

CILcare’s research demonstrates that the SAMP8 strain, which closely mimics human patterns of age-related hearing loss, serves as a robust and rapid model for the screening of ARHL drug candidates.  We expect that SAMP8 will play an important role in developing and testing new therapeutic agents to treat ARHL which, worldwide, affects 35% of all people aged 65 and older.
