Cisplatin is a first-line treatment of several cancers. Adverse effects include nephrotoxicity, neurotoxicity, and ototoxicity with no preventative treatment for the latter. Cisplatin treatment often results in a bilateral elevation of hearing threshold resulting in irreversible hearing loss.<\/p>\n
