Chaired by <a href=\"https:\/\/www15.creighton.edu\/faculty-directory-profile\/2239\/peter-steyger\"><strong>Professor Peter Steyger<\/strong>, PhD, Director of the Translational Hearing Center at Creighton University<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/cbset.org\/leadership\/\"><strong>Rami Tzafriri<\/strong>, PhD, Director of Research and Innovation at CBSET<\/a>, this workshop included presentations from experts in the field :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Ga\u00eblle Naert, PhD, <em>Chief Operations Officer, CILcare<\/em> :<\/strong> Delivery approaches to the inner ear used in animal models<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bonnie Jacques, PhD, <em>Senior Director, Research &amp; Preclinical Development<\/em>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.otonomy.com\/\">Otonomy<\/a> :<\/strong> Factors in intratympanic drug delivery for the inner ear<\/li>\n<li><strong>Laurent D\u00e9sir\u00e9, PhD, <em>Preclinical Development Director<\/em>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sensorion.com\/en\/home\/\">Sensorion<\/a> :<\/strong> Local delivery of inner ear gene therapies<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ronald Pennings, MD, PhD, <em>ENT surgeon<\/em>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.radboudumc.nl\/en\/people\/ronald-pennings\">Radboud UMC<\/a> :<\/strong> Challenges in delivering novel therapeutics to the inner ear in humans<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>This workshop provided an opportunity for experts to discuss the challenges and opportunities of inner ear delivery technology<\/strong>, and emerging approaches toward safe and efficacious dosing of emerging therapeutic compounds. Different aspects of inner ear delivery were covered, from promising therapeutic strategies to small molecules and gene therapy.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the translation of delivery approaches used in preclinical animal models to clinical trials in patients were here clarified.
