This year the event \u00a0will focus on the genetics, pathology and therapies of the inner ear, highlighting the importance to bridge basic research into clinical application.<\/p>\n<h3>Hearing Therapeutics Summit<\/h3>\n<p>The Inner Ear Biology workshop will be preceded on <strong>September 2nd, 2023<\/strong>, by the Hearing Therapeutics Summit, organized by RNID, the UCL Ear Institute and the NIHR UCLH Biomedical Research Centre. CILcare is honored to be invited and to have Ga\u00eblle Naert, PhD, Chief Scientific &amp; Operations Officer, give a talk at this Hearing Therapeutics Summit entitled <strong><em>\u201cHearing in background noise: the path toward future treatments using digital evaluation\u201d<\/em><\/strong>, in which Dr Naert will be providing a landscape review of preclinical and clinical research focused on <strong>\u8778\u725b\u30b7\u30ca\u30d7\u30b9\u969c\u5bb3<\/strong>. This talk will be given as part of the <strong><em>&#8220;Basic science to the rescue &#8211; open challenges in hearing therapeutics development&#8221; <\/em><\/strong>session.<\/p>\n<p>Alterations in our sensory senses are gaining more and more interest as potential <strong>biomarkers<\/strong>. Hearing impairment is a comorbidity of multiple neuro-inflammatory diseases which may precede their onset. Insidious and highly prevalent, cochlear synaptopathy is a form of hearing disorder which refers to the difficulty of understanding in noisy environment, and is still difficult to assess in the clinic, lacking standard diagnostic methods, computational tools, and sensitive auditory tests.
